What’s inside:
The Beef Share is the simplest way to put Shepherds Brook Farms beef on your table every month. Each Beef Share includes approximately 5 lbs of ground beef, 4 lbs of value steaks, 2 lbs of premium steaks, and 6–8 lbs of roasts, ribs, and braising cuts. The cuts included in your box rotate each month, which means you'll discover new favorites alongside the staples. As with all beef we sell, everything included in your box meets The Shepherds Brook Standard.

The Shepherds Brook Standard
Just Beef
What you get from Shepherds Brook Farms is beef — and that’s it. Our approach to herd health is built on prevention, not prescriptions. We manage our animals, their environment, and their nutrition to keep them happy and healthy. When an animal does get sick, we treat it. That’s not a compromise — it’s the right thing to do. No growth hormones, no fillers, no additives, no mystery. Our animals are finished on a custom ration we designed and tested to produce well-marbled, flavorful beef you can feel good about putting on your table.
Born, Bred & Raised Right
The animals we finish are either born on our farm or sourced from trusted local producers we know by name. Our breeding program uses natural service combined with rotational grazing on Vermont pastures. When our animals are ready, they transition to our finishing program — a carefully managed process that uses low-stress handling techniques and purpose-built facilities at every stage. Our animals are finished on a custom ration we developed for quality and flavor, not speed. It isn’t the easiest way to farm, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Vermont 365
Our cattle are here year-round. We never ship animals long distances to source feeders or send them to processing. A short supply chain means a fresher product on your table. It also means fewer food miles, less time in transit and storage, and a closer connection between the farm that raised your beef and the kitchen where you cook it. The full value chain stays in our local economy, and we think that matters. When you buy our beef, you’re supporting a community of small farms committed to maintaining the working agricultural landscape that is the backbone of Vermont’s rural character.
Sustainable from Pasture to Plate
When you raise an animal right, you owe it to that animal to make sure nothing goes to waste. Our cattle go to local processors who share that commitment. You’ll find everything from ribeyes and filet mignon to oxtail and marrow bones in our product lineup. Every part of the animal has value, and every cut finds its way to a table that appreciates it. That's what sustainability looks like on a working farm — not just a buzzword on a package, but a commitment to wasting nothing and keeping the entire process close to home.
Diversified Livestock Operation
Shepherds Brook Farms isn’t a single-product hobby farm. We run integrated cow-calf, finishing, and sheep enterprises on over 1,000 acres of agricultural land at our farms in Braintree and Randolph. This scale and diversity means we can invest in the infrastructure, expertise, and management systems that produce a consistent, high-quality product year round. It means we have a nutritionist developing our finishing rations, veterinary oversight of our herd health program, and the operational depth to deliver on the standards we set.
See for Yourself
We’d rather show you how we raise our beef than ask you to take our word for it. Visit our farm events page or reach out for a tour of our operation. We’re happy to show you what we’re about.
